   Environmentally Friendly

Green products are very important both to our environment and in addressing concerns of our clients. Products made of renewable resources, recycled materials and that are long lasting, recyclable or biodegradable are important to the future of floor coverings and interior finishes. New technology is continually being developed for the products we carry. Many of our products support green building initiatives like LEED. We offer products in the following categories that are friendly to our environment:

Carpet

• Wool: Once considered only for the affluent, wool is becoming more cost-effective due to new manufacturing technology of natural fibers. Wool is a renewable resource and is biodegradable. Wool also is a product that improves IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) in homes and offices, by acting as an air purifier. Synthetics do not have this capability.
• Synthetics: Many are using renewable resources and recycled materials, cleaner manufacturing, and producing a product that can be recycled and last longer.
• Many carpets are CRI Green Label Plus certified. The CRI Green Label Plus Logo identifies products with very low emissions of VOC’s.

Wood, Cork & Bamboo

• Reclaimed Wood
• Sustainable Forest Practices
• Easily Cleaned without using Harsh Chemicals
• Long Lasting
• Many products are available as FSC certified.  The FSC logo identifies products which contain wood from responsibly managed forests.

Ceramic Tile & Glass

• Recycled Content
• Cleaner Manufacturing Practices
• Easily Cleaned without using Harsh Chemicals
• Long Lasting
• Many products are under the Greenworks program which is committed to sustainability and uses Scientific Certification Systems for qualifying products.

Linoleum

• Made from Renewable Resources
• Biodegradable
• Easily Cleaned without using Harsh Chemicals
• Long Lasting
• Marmoleum has earned a multitude of certifications for being environmentally friendly including the SMaRT certification. SMaRT is the ultimate standard for measuring a product's sustainability
